Patient Voice and Involvement Team
The Patient Voice and Involvement team help services to listen to patients. We also listen to carers, families of patients and our local communities.
We want everyone to feel that the care and treatment they receive is the best. The Trust has a Patient Voice and Involvement Strategy. This sets out the Trust’s vision for working side by side with patients. It also says we will work with patients' families and our communities. This will help us to improve access to our services. It will also improve patient experience and patient outcomes.

We work with people who use our services, their families and communities. We recruit Participation Partners to get involved. This can include being a member on a Trust group or committee. They can be on an interview panel. They can get involved in training or projects.
We look at feedback from patients and visitors to our Trust. We then work with services to make changes and improve patient experience. We provide regular “seeing the person” sessions to teams and departments. This includes support staff, nurses, allied health professionals and medical staff.
We have team members based at the three main hospital sites. They talk to patients in our hospitals. They go out to local communities to reach people who may not get a chance to have their voices heard.
We also support our Patient Participation and Action Group. This group makes sure we are delivering the Patient Voice and Involvement Strategy.
