Vehicle entrances are off Ethelbert Road, or South Canterbury Road.

Types of car parks
There are 2 types of car park:
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) – pay when you leave
To enter, drive to the car park entrance. The camera will read your number plate and the barrier will rise. You do not need to buy at ticket on arrival.
To leave, pay at the pay machine. You will need to enter your vehicle number plate. Payment is by contactless card, smartphone, or coin (correct change only).
After paying, return to your vehicle and drive to the exit. The camera will detect your payment and the barrier will rise.
Pay and Display - Pay on arrival
Buy a ticket from the pay machine on arrival. Display this in your car for the duration of your parking.

Car park 1
Located opposite the Children’s Assessment Centre / next to the Gate Clinic.
For clinics in the 1937 building, including oncology, Car Park 1 and Car Park 4 are the closest.

Located at the Outpatients end of the site, outside the Haemophilia Centre

Car park Zone 4
Located outside the Medical Education Centre / opposite Day Surgery.

Pay and display - pay on arrival
Disabled parking
Designated disabled bays are outside the main hospital entrances. These are only for use by blue-badge holders:

23 outside the Fracture Clinic
20 outside Outpatients
Patient Drop Off
Patient drop-off bays are located at the hospital entrances. These are for drop-off and pick-up only. Please do not wait or park there as space is limited.
Renal, Headway and Clinical Rehabilitation departments each have limited designated bays. Please speak to your clinical contact for further details.
Weekly permits and parking charges
Weekly permits are available from the pay machines.
On the touch screen, select option “Buy 7 day pass”
Enter your number plate, and pay £16.
Your vehicle will then be able to enter and exit the ANPR car park for 7 days from that point.

Restricted Parking areas
Staff parking areas
Staff parking areas are reserved for staff permit holders only. Please do not park in staff areas as you may receive a parking ticket.
Canterbury Medical Centre
The Canterbury Medical Centre is located on the hospital site at the top of Ethelbert Road. It is not operated by East Kent Hospitals. Please be careful not to park in their patient car park as you may receive a parking ticket from their car park operator.
Stagecoach route 25 provides frequent buses between the hospital and Canterbury city centre. At the city centre connections can be made with buses to and from outlying areas.
To plan your bus journey to and from the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, please use the Stagecoach journey planner or call Traveline on 0871 200 2233 (calls cost 12p per minute plus your phone company's access charge).

Trains to Canterbury (Kent and Canterbury Hospital)
Canterbury East is the nearest rail station to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. It is a short walk to the bus station. Canterbury West rail station is further, although several bus services run from there to the bus station. From the bus station you can catch bus service 25 or 25a to the hospital.
There are regular direct train services to Canterbury East from Faversham, Adisham, London Victoria and Dover Priory, as well as many other stations.
There are regular direct train services to Canterbury West from Margate, Ramsgate, Ashford and Maidstone, as well as many other stations.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust provides a free non-emergency ambulance healthcare transport service for patients who have a clinical and medical need for transport, where their current mobility needs would not allow them to use their own, or public transport to get to or from an NHS health care appointment.

Attending outpatients
Our outpatients entrance is closest to the South Canterbury Road end of Ethelbert Road, near Canterbury Medical Practice.
For parking, use car park 3.
