What we do

Our gastrointestinal department diagnoses, treats and works to prevent gastrointestinal (stomach and intestine) conditions. This includes:

  • Anaemia

  • Autoimmune liver disorders

  • Alcohol-Related Liver Disease

  • Barrett’s Surveillance

  • Cirrhosis

  • Colitis

  • Crohn's disease

  • Endoscopy procedures

  • Diverticulitis

  • Gastrointestinal cancer 

  • Hepatitis (Viral) B and C

  • Inflammatory bowel disease

  • Jaundice

  • Management of alcohol services

  • Polyp surveillance

  • Ulcers.

We see both inpatients and outpatients. This could be for ongoing management and treatment for a long-term condition, for surgery, or simply for screening purposes.

How to find us

Our outpatient clinics run 7 days a week. These can be telephone or face-to-face appointments at the following sites:

For inpatients, we have the Cambridge M2 wards at the William Harvey hospital. We also have Quex ward at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother hospital.
