What we do
Our respiratory department looks after patients with lung problems and respiratory conditions, such as:
chronic bronchitis / emphysema (COPD)
sleep disorders, such as sleep apnoea
chronic respiratory failure and domiciliary ventilation
pneumonia
mesothelioma and asbestos-related lung conditions.

Patients with lung diseases may undergo a number of investigations, which include x-rays, CT scans, bronchoscopy (to look into the lungs with a camera), lung function testing (to assess breathing capacity) and overnight studies of breathing during sleep.
